After School Classes
Kenter Canyon School offers a variety of after-school enrichment classes provided by STAR's NOVA program. The after-school enrichment sessions are 8 to 11 weeks in length. Fall & Spring Production
Kenter offers an after-school theatrical production in the Fall and Spring semesters as part of Kenter’s PSG activities. These musical theater productions culminate with an evening and matinee performances. Visit our Fall & Spring Production page for more information.
Beyond the Bell
After-school playground supervision is offered daily, Monday through Friday, for grades 2-5 students only. Parents must complete a separate registration to enroll their child in the program. Please contact the playground director/coach for details. Students not registered in the after-school playground program will not be allowed to stay and play after school dismissal. This is a permissive program with limited personnel to supervise students. It is expected that participants will follow all program rules and the directions of the coach/director. Students who are not able to demonstrate appropriate discipline and self-control will be excluded from the program.
STAR
STAR is a non-profit educational enrichment program that provides after-school child care for students in grades K-5. Application forms are available in the main office. You can also visit the STAR Education website or contact Kenter’s STAR personnel at 310-883-5785.
Orchestra
The Kenter Canyon Elementary Instrumental Music Program is open to all students from first to fifth grade. For more than thirty years, our award-winning Kenter Canyon School Orchestra program has been directed by Larry Newman with instruction provided by the outstanding faculty of Children’s Music Workshop.
Instruction is provided every Wednesday that school is in session from mid-September through April — culminating with a Spring Orchestra Concert. Please click here for more information and to register!
